토이 프로젝트*를 위한 로고 제작 워크숍을 진행했습니다. fio(fade in and out)에서 장면 간의 전환 속 이루어지는 ‘중첩’을 키워드 삼아, 기존 fio 로고를 이리저리 장난스럽게 중첩해 나오는 우연들을 탐험했습니다. fio 로고들을 손에 한 움큼 쥐고 하늘로 높이 던지거나, 코끼리 코를 15번 돌고 각자 적은 (적었다기 보다는 난장판으로 그린) fio 로고를 겹쳤습니다. 또, 폴라로이드로 찍은 fio를 물에 풀어 필름만 분리한 후 중첩하거나, 수조에 마카로 적은 fio들을 풀고 손으로 찍어보기도 하였습니다. 하늘로 던져진 발랄한 fio가 최종 토이 로고로 선정되었습니다.

*토이 프로젝트란 상대적으로 가벼운 fio의 사이드 프로젝트를 지칭합니다. 더 발칙하고 장난스러운 주제를 탐구합니다.

We held a logo-making workshop for our Toy Project—a series of lighter, more mischievous side explorations by fio. Using the idea of “overlap”—a concept central to fio (fade in and out), where transitions blur one scene into another—we playfully experimented with layering the original fio logo in all sorts of unexpected ways. We tossed handfuls of fio logos into the air, spun around fifteen times like elephants, then tried overlapping the scribbled (read: chaotic) logos we’d drawn.
We even dissolved polaroids of the fio logo in water to peel apart the film for layering, and soaked marker-drawn versions in tanks to stamp by hand. Out of all the playful attempts, the one that was tossed into the air—with the most cheerful energy—became our final Toy Project logo.

Toy Projects are fio’s smaller-scale side projects. They explore cheekier, more rebellious themes.
